Charlotte Kim Elected President of AALAM

Choate announced that Charlotte Kim, a partner in the firm’s Finance and Restructuring Group, has been elected president of the Asian-American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) for a two-year term.  During her term, Ms. Kim plans to focus her efforts on promoting a greater unity of purpose, such as working toward the upcoming National Asian American Pacific Bar Association convention in Boston in 2009, and on advancing shared diversity goals in the legal profession.

As a partner in Choate’s Finance and Restructuring Group, Ms. Kim focuses her practice on all aspects of senior, second lien, subordinated and other junior lending; cash-flow and asset-based financings; buyout and acquisition finance; debt securities offerings; venture debt; domestic and international corporate finance; lease financings; restructuring transactions, and advising public and private companies on debt capital structure.  Ms. Kim is also a member of Choate’s Diversity Committee. 

Ms. Kim received her JD from Harvard Law School in 1995 and her AB, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1991.  She was a Fulbright Scholar at the Centre for European Policy Studies (1991-1992) in Brussels, Belgium.
