Andrew Hickey, partner in the Finance and Restructuring Group at Choate, has been named a 2012 “40 Under 40 Deal Makers” finalist by The M&A Advisor.  The prestigious list recognizes emerging leaders in the M&A, financing and turnaround fields who have achieved a significant level of success while still under the age of 40.

At Choate, Mr. Hickey focuses his practice on debt and equity capital markets transactions, mezzanine and second lien financings, and mergers and acquisitions.  He has served as lead counsel on financing deals in excess of $10 billion.  He is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

“Andy is among the best of the best financing lawyers in the country and he is truly deserving of this honor,” said William Gelnaw and John Nadas, co-managing partners of Choate.  “Our firm and our clients are very fortunate to have Andy on our team.”

The M&A Advisor has been recognizing US and international transactions, firms and dealmakers for their achievements for over a decade.  In 2010, they created the 40 Under 40 Awards to promote mentorship and professional development amongst the emerging business leaders.  “This year, our judges reported that they were truly challenged to select just 40 winners and 20 runners up from such an accomplished group of Awards Finalists,” said Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of The M&A Advisor.

Mr. Hickey has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2007.  He currently serves on the Honorary Board of Family Services of Greater Boston.

Mr. Hickey received his JD, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1998 and his BA, cum laude, from Syracuse University in 1994.
