Prior to joining Choate, Kellan Ponikiewicz worked as a patent agent at iRobot Corporation where she prepared and prosecuted patent applications pertaining to robotics and sensor technology as well as advise staff on patentability issues.

Practice Focus

Intellectual Property:  strategically create and develop patent portfolios, prepare and prosecute patent applications and prepare landscape analyses with a focus on computer software and hardware, robotics, communications systems and sensor technology.

Intellectual Property Litigation:  support and advise the litigation team on technical and scientific concepts.

  • Performed landscape analyses and developed prosecution strategies for an emerging robotics company and a major software company.
  • Drafted and prosecuted applications for robotic devices, sensor technologies, non-linear robotic software applications, mobile and server-based computing and remote-access software applications.
