Dallas Cruz participated in the firm’s Summer Associate Program in 2009. While in law school, Ms. Cruz worked as a teaching assistant for the first-year Legal Reasoning, Research and Writing course at Boston College Law School. Ms. Cruz participated in BC Law’s London Program during her final semester of law school, taking classes at King’s College London and interning at Bank of America in the Commercial Leasing department.
Prior to joining Choate, Ms. Cruz worked for the Secretary of the Commonwealth in the Massachusetts Securities Division, where she updated the Code of Massachusetts Regulations and participated in securities enforcement actions on behalf of the Commonwealth.
Practice Focus
General Corporate & Securities: engages in general corporate matters for public and private companies.
Finance: represents banks and institutional investors in complex financial transactions, including asset-based and cash flow financings.
Restructuring & Bankruptcy: represents various debtors, secured and unsecured creditors in a variety of creditor’s rights and insolvency matters, including workouts, restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings.
Representative Engagements
- Assisted in representation of agent in $250 million syndicated credit facility for borrowers based in US and Canada.
- Member of team representing agent in $50 million syndicated credit facility to provide working capital funds to national clothing chain.
- Assisted with successful defense of bankruptcy avoidance actions brought against multiple clients, including insurance companies and an IT software management firm.
- Counsel to lender in restructuring of $25 million asset-based loan to manufacturing company.

Professional and Community Involvement
Ms. Cruz is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the Boston chapter of the Duke Alumni Admissions Advisory Committee. She is a volunteer writing coach for Citizen Schools’ 8th Grade Academy and is a member of the Board of Directors of Roca, Inc., a non-profit organization.
