Prior to joining the firm, Eric James Teasdale spent a year in Pune, India working with the Ashraya Initiative for Children. In this role, he advocated for legal and educational rights of at-risk children living in slum communities.
While in law school, Mr. Teasdale served as Lead Editor of the Duke Forum for Law & Social Change and as Executive Editor of the Duke Journal of Comparative & International Law. Mr. Teasdale also spent his time serving as a Guardian ad Litem, advocating for abused and neglected children in the local family court system. Additionally, he participated in the Duke Children’s Law Clinic, providing legal advice, advocacy and legal representation to low-income children. In recognition of his public service efforts, Mr. Teasdale was honored as a co-recipient of the Class of 2010 Duke Law Pro Bono Award.
Mr. Teasdale participated in the firm’s Summer Associate program in 2009. Prior to law school, Mr. Teasdale was one of four Emory College graduates awarded the prestigious Robert T. Jones Jr. (“Bobby Jones”) Scholarship in recognition of academic excellence and leadership, providing him the opportunity to pursue graduate work in International Relations at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
Practice Focus
Major Commercial Litigation: assists in representation of leading corporations and financial institutions in complex commercial litigation, including patent infringement claims and securities investigations.
Bankruptcy & Restructuring: workouts, restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of debtors and secured and unsecured creditors.
Representative Engagements
- Currently assisting on government investigation into large pharmaceutical company.
- Represented the interests of abused and neglected children in the Durham County Family Court in Durham, North Carolina.
