choate assists in development of clinical affiliation

Choate represented South Shore Hospital, a large community hospital, in developing a clinical affiliation with a major Boston health system to broaden its offerings in women’s health, cancer care and cardiology services.

The affiliation has led to new residency programs, an elective angioplasty program as part of the MASSCOM Trial at the hospital’s new cardiovascular care center, and expanded services in reproductive endocrinology and urogynecology.

choate conducts assessment of hospital review board

Choate attorneys conducted an assessment of a hospital’s institutional review board and clinical research program, including interviews of researchers, hospital administrators and community members serving on the IRB.  As part of the audit, Choate revised and updated policies and procedures for the institution and assisted in preparing the institution for eventual IRB accreditation as well as training IRB members with respect to their obligations and applicable legal requirements.

choate conducts voluntary disclosure

Choate attorneys coordinated a university’s voluntary disclosure to federal authorities and then defended the university in a subsequent investigation of various grants management matters.  On behalf of the university, Choate favorably resolved the matter with both the US Attorney’s Office and the National Institutes of Health without a Corporate Integrity Agreement.
