Caitlin Shea is a member of Choate's Business Department. Ms. Shea focuses her practice on the establishment and ongoing management of private investment funds, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, and funds of funds.
Private Equity: represents funds of all types in aspects of capital raising and acquisitions of target companies.
Ms. Shea previously was an associate at K&L Gates, LLP. In addition, she was a judicial intern to the Honorable Douglas P. Woodlock of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 2014. Before attending law school, she was a paralegal for a Washington, D.C. law firm.

The women of Choate’s Private Equity group hosted an evening reception at the Fosters Pavilion of the Boston Harbor Hotel following the first day of the Kayo Women’s Private Equity Summit. Choate and industry colleagues gathered to hear Joanne Chang, James Beard award winner and chef-owner of Flour, speak about her career path and experience as a woman in a male-dominated industry.
Choate represented Marcy Venture Partners on the formation of its first venture capital fund, Marcy Venture Partners Fund, L.P., which closed at $85 million in aggregate capital commitments.
