Margaret Burnside

Margaret Burnside is a member in Choate's Litigation Department. Ms. Burnside participated in the Firm’s summer associate program in 2016.

Prior to joining Choate, Ms. Burnside was a Judicial Intern for the U.S. Magistrate Judge Tommy Miller in the Eastern District of Virginia in Norfolk and for U.S. Magistrate Judge Roderick C. Young in the Eastern District of Virginia in Richmond.

Ms. Burnside is a graduate of William & Mary Law School where she served as a member of William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law; was appointed as an Associate Justice on the William & Mary Law School Honor Council; was a member of William & Mary National Trial Team; and a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team.

Prior to law school Ms. Burnside worked as the Manager of Government Affairs for the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) in Arlington, Virginia. Ms. Burnside lobbied Congress, the Administration, and foreign governments on behalf of some of the world’s largest retailers on issues including international trade agreements, transportation, and labor.
