Wealth Management Midlevel Associate

 Choate, Hall & Stewart seeks a 4th to 6th year associate (2011 – 2013 JD law school graduates) to join its nationally-renowned Wealth Management Group.   Applicants should have advanced knowledge of gift, estate and GST tax laws and of trusts and estate laws.  Experience drafting estate planning documents for high net worth clients is required.  Ideal candidates possess excellent professional judgement and are highly motivated to provide exceptional client service.  Large firm experience preferred. 

 

Tax – Midlevel Associate

Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP seeks a 3rd to 5th year associate (2013-2015 law school graduates) to join its Tax Group.  The candidate will have experience representing a wide-array of clients, including private equity and venture capital funds and their portfolio companies, on corporate and partnership tax matters at the federal, state and international levels.  The ideal candidate will have relevant law firm experience and have excellent research, writing and analytical skills.  The individual must possess superior professional judgement and be highly motivated to provide exceptional client service.  Large firm experience preferred.

Intellectual Property - Junior Patent Associate (Chemistry)

Choate is currently seeking an associate or patent agent with one to three years of experience and a strong technical background in chemistry. Some experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and conducting IP due diligence and FTO analyses is required. Advanced degree required (PhD preferred; will consider an MS with substantial industry experience). Registration with the USPTO required; prior firm experience preferred. Candidates should have an excellent academic record, top-notch communication skills and a creative and entrepreneurial perspective on IP. Fund Formation - Junior Associate

Choate is currently seeking a corporate fund formation associate with at least two years of experience in fund formation for private equity & venture capital sponsors and their investors. The ideal candidate will have experience working on fund formation engagements, including drafting and negotiations of limited partnership agreements, subscription agreements and side letter agreements; legal review and completion of private placement memoranda; drafting general partner and management company arrangements; regulatory compliance matters for private equity and venture capital firms; and all other documents and processes relevant to fund formation transactions and private equity and venture capital firm clients. Candidates should have knowledge of the Securities Act, the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act, as these laws and their related rules apply to private equity and venture capital funds. The ideal candidate also possesses excellent professional judgment and a strong work ethic, is highly motivated to provide exceptional client service and values the opportunity for personal and professional growth in a collaborative environment. Large firm experience preferred.

Real Estate - Midlevel Associate

Choate, Hall & Stewart is currently seeking a mid-level real estate associate with three to five years of experience in real estate transactional and land use work. The individual must have significant experience representing developers, investors and lenders regarding complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, lending, financing and workouts. The individual will also advise clients regarding zoning and other permitting processes and due diligence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent professional judgment and be highly motivated to provide exceptional client service.
