Dan Riley Named Emerging Leader by The M&A Advisor

Choate announced today that Dan Riley, counsel in the Firm’s private equity group, has been named a 2017 “Emerging Leader” by The M&A Advisor. The awards are given to a group of young professionals in the mergers & acquisitions, financing, and turnaround industries in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe who have “reached a significant level of success and made a notable contribution to their industry and community.” He will receive his award in New York City in September.

“We’re excited but not surprised that Dan has been singled out for this well-deserved recognition,” said TJ Murphy, co-chair of Choate’s private equity group. “He has grown into an incredible leader within the Choate family and this award validates that his contributions to the broader business community have been equally impressive and valued.”

At Choate, Dan advises private equity clients and their portfolio companies on significant mergers, acquisitions, and similar transactions as well as day-to-day strategic and commercial matters. He also represents issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions, and advises clients on general corporate and securities law matters.

Prior to law school, Dan served as a surface warfare officer and oceanography officer in the U.S. Navy. He received his JD, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2008 and his BS in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University in 1999.
