Dr. Brenda Herschbach Jarrell Named to Top 250 Women in IP

Managing Intellectual Property’s IP STARS named Dr. Brenda Herschbach Jarrell, co-chair of Choate’s Life Sciences and Intellectual Property Groups, to its 2018 Top 250 Women in IP guide. This special publication recognizes female practitioners in private practice who have performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year.

An IP lawyer with keen business savvy, Dr. Jarrell’s extensive technical credentials make her well versed in a wide variety of technologies in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries. Dr. Jarrell has experience representing companies and institutions at all stages of the life sciences business lifecycle, as well as those who invest in them. She was named “Attorney of the Year for Patent Strategy & Management - Massachusetts” by LMG Life Sciences in 2017 and 2016.

Dr. Jarrell received her JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1998 and her PhD from the University of California, San Francisco in biochemistry and molecular biology in 1993.  She received an MA and a BA in chemistry, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1988.

Dr. Jarrell was chosen based upon the rankings of the 2018 edition of IP STARS, researched over the last year. That research included thousands of interviews and surveys by IP partners and law firms across the United States. The most prominent female attorneys identified through the process make up the Top 250 Women in IP.
