Choate Sponsors Family Office BioForum

Event: Family Office BioForum
Organization: Massachusetts Biotechnology Council
Location: Boston, MA

Choate sponsored the Family Office BioForum held by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. This forum was an opportunity for ultra-high net worth investors and their family offices to discuss investing in the Life Sciences.  Attendees learned from family investors and experts by sharing best practices and examined all aspects of executing impactful investments in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostic sectors.

Todd Millay, managing director of Choate Investment Advisors, spoke on "Investing: Smart Syndication Strategies and Capital Deployment," where he discussed the appropriate financial structure and instrument for an investment and how to determine the valuation and implement a financial risk mitigation strategy.  He also explained how to co-invest and invite others into an existing investment, as well as how to align incentives between all investors and management.

The Massachusetts Biotechnology Council is an association of more than 600 biotechnology companies, universities, academic institutions and others dedicated to advancing cutting edge research, and is the leading advocate for the Bay State's world premier Life Sciences cluster.
