Choate hosted and sponsored a half-day program at the BIO IPCC Fall Conference and Meeting, where Eric Marandett, chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, and Brenda Jarrell, PhD, chair of the Life Sciences and Intellectual Property Groups, presented.

Mr. Marandett moderated the panel “What’s Left of Biotech Method Patents,” which examined the ongoing viability of method patents in the biotech space, given recent decisions that may have sweeping implications for these patents’ value.

Dr. Jarrell moderated the panel “Tales from the Edge: Reports on Investment in Emerging Markets,” which focused on the IP issues that arise as companies and venture capital firms fund or partner with companies in emerging markets such as China or India.

BIO IPCC serves in-house legal and IP professionals in the biotechnology industry, providing attendees with an opportunity to explore significant current and projected topics in the field.
