In addition to personal financial planning and the preparation of clients' planning documents, Choate attorneys serve as the personal representatives and trustees for hundreds of families in New England and throughout the US.  These attorneys are supported by our staff of professional trust and estate administrators, tax specialists and our registered investment advisory subsidiary who provide ongoing support and the highest level of client service in the management of each account.

Personal Connection

Our professional staff and knowledgeable trust administrators are fully prepared to help clients in all areas, from developing budgets, forecasting income, making special payments or wire transfers and paying bills to arranging short-term loans or answering questions about a trust.

Estate Services

We use this same team approach when it's time to settle an estate. Our attorneys handle all estate-related legal matters, including the allowance of the will, fiduciary accountings and other probate court matters. In most cases, the same trust administrator who has worked with a client's family assists by managing important details, such as inventorying and valuing assets, collecting and paying debts, preparing tax returns, and distributing assets in accordance with the terms of the will.

Investments Through Registered Investment Advisory Subsidiary, Choate Investment Advisors

Investors’ total returns are predominantly influenced by asset allocation decisions. Choate Investment Advisors focuses on identifying attractive asset classes and constructing diversified portfolios with attractive risk/return characteristics within well-defined parameters. Periodically, Choate Investment Advisors makes tactical adjustments to asset class weightings within long-term strategic ranges based on our current near-term asset class return forecasts.
