Choate Ranked No. 1 Nationally in The American Lawyer's Summer Associates 2015 Satisfaction Survey
Choate today announced that it ranked No. 1 nationally in the 2015 Summer Associates Satisfaction Survey conducted by The American Lawyer. In the survey, Choate received a perfect average overall score of 5 on a 1-to-5 scale in each of the nine ratings metrics, as well as a 93 percent response rate. This is the second consecutive year that Choate has ranked first in AmLaw’s annual Summer Associates Survey.
According to the publication, at “top-rated Choate, summer associates cited the diversity of work assignments and involving group events” as the main reasons for their high level of satisfaction.
Choate’s summer associates said they performed interesting work, did “real” work, received excellent training and guidance, and positively interacted with partners and full-time associates. Choate also earned top scores for communicating goals and expectations, for how accurately it portrayed itself during the interviewing process, and as a place where associates would accept a full-time position if offered.
“We are gratified to receive such positive feedback from our summer associates,” said Charles Cheever, co-managing partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP. “We recruit summer associates who are not only the best and the brightest, but those whom we believe will be a good fit for our high level practice areas and the unique single office culture we have created. We are honored that our summer associates recognize what an exciting place this is to work, and that they consistently rank us as among the absolute best firms in the country to work at.”
The American Lawyer satisfaction survey, which guaranteed anonymity, was sent to almost 5,000 summer associates who were first- and second-year law students working at the AmLaw 200 law firms for at least three weeks this summer. Responses were received from 142 firms, of which 92 firms qualified for the overall rankings chart with at least 10 completed surveys.
