Choate Receives 2019 Pro Bono Law Firm Award from the PAIR Project

Choate has been named the recipient of the 2019 Pro Bono Law Firm Award by the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project. The Firm was honored at the 2019 PAIR Gala held on June 3rd at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. Intellectual Property Litigation associate Diane Seol accepted the award on the Firm’s behalf.

Choate was honored for its 18 years of dedicated service on PAIR asylum cases, ensuring that vulnerable asylum seekers would have access to counsel, including a hard-fought asylum victory for Rose Musoke. Specifically, Choate committed its time and resources to pro bono work on 26 asylum cases since 2001, including 8 current cases.

Formed in 1989, the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project provides free legal services to asylum seekers and promotes the rights of detained immigrants.
