Choate recently hosted a delegation of visiting attorneys from Italy, Germany, the U.K., France, and the Netherlands for a breakfast discussion on recent developments in the European Union relating to leveraging IP, including data privacy. Choate Partner Julia Hesse joined the panel to provide a perspective on the landscape in the United States.

Specific topics included:

  • Privacy Shield and General Data Protection Regulation, including Comparison to U.S. Privacy Laws
  • Disruptive Tech Models vs. Pre-Existing Regulation in the EU
  • Leverage IP in Technology in the EU
