Michael Bunis Quoted on Recent Supreme Court Patent Rulings in Law360

Michael Bunis was quoted in “Lawyers Weigh in on High Court's Patent Rulings” in IP Law360 regarding the impact of the Supreme Court’s two recent rulings which found that the Federal Circuit must ease its standards for awarding attorneys’ fees in “unreasonable” patent infringement cases.  Mr. Bunis notes that these decisions send two clear messages:  one, to Congress, that the courts can handle what many consider excessive patent litigation by non-practicing entities, and two, a warning to any company bringing baseless patent litigation – non-practicing entity or otherwise – that they now risk the award of attorneys’ fees to the prevailing party.  This also appeared in the Appellate section of Law360.
