Macey Russell Recognized as a Most Influential Black Lawyer by Savoy Magazine
Macey Russell has been named to Savoy Magazine's 2021 list of Most Influential Black Lawyers. Savoy Magazine’s listing features the top African American professionals who have been recognized for their legal leadership and expertise in national and global-leading corporations.
Macey is a partner in Choate’s Litigation Group and has over 30 years of experience representing corporations and financial institutions in complex business matters. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America, a member of the Litigation Counsel of America’s Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, and served as a faculty contributor to Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop.
Regarded as a national leader for the dialogue on diversity in the legal profession focusing on African Americans in major law firms, Macey is a founding advisory board member of the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession and former co-chair of the Boston Bar Association Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Throughout his career, he has received numerous recognitions, such as being short-listed twice by Chambers for the Minority Attorney of the Year Award and the recipient of the Boston Bar Association’s “Voice of Change” Award. In addition, the Boston Foundation and Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce named Macey one of Boston’s 100 Most Influential People of Color and one of the 50 Most Influential Lawyers of Color in Greater Boston. As board chair of the Augustus A. White III Institute for Healthcare Equity, Macey has led the formation and its recent launch. The Institute will offer the medical and business community with programs to reduce workplace bias, a community communications platform to disseminate healthcare information, and think tank groups that will work collaboratively on solutions to healthcare disparities.
