Marcy Venture Partners Raises $85 Million Inaugural Venture Capital Fund

Choate represented Marcy Venture Partners on the formation of its first venture capital fund, Marcy Venture Partners Fund, L.P., which closed at $85 million in aggregate capital commitments. Co-founded by music mogul JAY-Z, Roc Nation co-founder Jay Brown and veteran venture capitalist Larry Marcus, Marcy invests with management teams that it believes can build game-changing consumer businesses and mass-market brands that resonate with current culture across products and services, media and technology.

The new fund has invested in six companies to date, including electric mobility startup Wheels, vegan cookie company Partake Foods and singer Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage X Fenty.
