Brenda Jarrell and Eric Marandett Included in Patent Expert Guide 2015
Choate announced today that two of its attorneys – Dr. Brenda H. Jarrell and Eric J. Marandett – have been included in the Patent Expert Guide 2015, placing them among “the world’s leading practitioners” in patent law. Attorneys were included in the 11th annual guide based on nominations by in-house counsel and peers and extensive research by the Legal Media Group.
Dr. Jarrell is co-chair of the Life Sciences and the Intellectual Property Groups at Choate. An IP lawyer with keen business savvy, her extensive technical credentials make her well versed in a wide variety of technologies in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries. Dr. Jarrell has experience representing all types of companies and institutions at all stages of the life sciences business lifecycle, as well as those who invest in them.
She has been named a Boston “Lawyer of the Year” for Biotechnology Law by Best Lawyers, and is regularly listed in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500, IAM Patent 1000, and Managing Intellectual Property as one of the top lawyers in the profession. She received her JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1998 and her PhD from the University of California, San Francisco in biochemistry and molecular biology in 1993. She received an MA and a BA in chemistry, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1988.
Marandett is co-chair of Choate’s Litigation Department and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. He represents biotech, pharmaceutical, and technology companies in high stakes patent litigation and other intellectual property and commercial disputes. He is a seasoned trial lawyer who brings strong business acumen and courtroom skills to every litigation he handles.
He was recently named the 2015 Boston "Lawyer of the Year" for Patent Litigation by Best Lawyers, and is regularly listed in Chambers USA, The Legal 500, IAM 250, IAM Patent 1000, and Managing Intellectual Property as a leading attorney in his field. He received his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1992 and his BA, magna cum laude, from Tufts University in 1988.
