Marcy Venture Partners Raises $325M for Fund II

Choate represented Marcy Venture Partners on the formation of its $325M second fund. The venture firm, co-founded by music mogul Shawn Carter (Jay-Z), former Roc Nation CEO Jay Brown, and veteran venture capitalist Larry Marcus, has a “consumer, culture and positive impact” investment strategy, and the majority of its existing portfolio companies are founded or run by people who identify as women or people of color. Marcy has made investments in at least 21 companies to date, including Rihanna’s lingerie company Savage X Fenty, Therabody, which makes percussion therapy tools, and an allergen-free cookie maker called Partake Foods.
