Choate Adds Mike Stick to Its Private Equity Team

New partner will support Choate’s clients with strategic transactions

Choate has welcomed Mike Stick as a partner in the firm’s Private Equity practice group. Mike brings years of experience in the legal and corporate worlds to his work with private equity and venture capital clients to help them maximize the value of their transactions. He has experience leading acquisitions, investments, dispositions, and financing transactions both in the U.S. and internationally, and is well versed in corporate governance matters, as well as general risk management.

Lee Feldman, Co-Chair of Choate’s Private Equity Group, observed that “Mike brings a unique mix of large law firm private equity experience together with in-house GC experience first as a public company executive and more recently as a family office executive. This experience enables him to provide top-tier technical private equity expertise with an unusually commercial and practical perspective. Mike is also well known in the private equity community and will enable Choate to continue our aggressive growth in this practice.”

Mike previously served as General Counsel and Chief Investment Officer of The Kensington Investment Company, Inc., a family office focused on alternative investments, real estate development, an international travel business, and philanthropy, and as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Xerium Technologies, Inc., an NYSE listed portfolio company of Apax Partners. Mike began his career at Ropes & Gray as a corporate attorney focused on private equity.

Mike received his JD from the Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He received his BA degree from Amherst College, graduating magna cum laude.
