Choate Elevates Six to Counsel

Six Choate attorneys - Greta A. Fails, Phoebe Fischer-Groban, Bryana T. McGillycuddy, Kevin C. Quigley, Samuel N. Rudman, and Tobin P. Sullivan - have been elected to Counsel at the Firm, effective May 1, 2019.

As Counsel in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, Greta A. Fails will continue to focus her practice on representing a broad range of clients, including technology, life sciences, and software companies, in high-stakes patent, trade secret and antitrust litigation and other complex IP and commercial disputes.

As Counsel in the Complex Trial & Appellate Litigation Group, Phoebe Fischer-Groban will continue to represent individuals and leading corporations in sophisticated commercial litigation. She represents clients from a wide range of industries, with an emphasis on public and private companies and venture capital and private equity firms in disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions, contract disputes, class actions, and other complex business litigation. She has represented clients at all stages of litigation, including pre-trial strategy through trial and appeals.

As Counsel in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, Bryana T. McGillycuddy will continue to focus her practice on representing biotech, pharmaceutical, and technology companies in a wide-range of intellectual property and complex commercial litigation, including patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark, contract, and licensing disputes.

As Counsel in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, Kevin C. Quigley will continue to focus his practice on trade secret litigation (particularly cases involving allegations of misappropriation by former employees and competitors), patent litigation, contract disputes, and a range of other complex trial and appellate work.

As Counsel in the Complex Trial & Appellate Litigation Group, Samuel N. Rudman will continue to represent a wide range of clients across industries, from leading financial institutions to universities. Mr. Rudman focuses his practice on corporate litigation, with a particular emphasis on class actions. He has litigated cases at every stage, including through trials and appeals. Mr. Rudman has defended cases arising under state and federal antitrust laws, the securities laws, Title VII, and Title IX.

As Counsel in the Business & Technology Group, Tobin P. Sullivan will continue to represent businesses ranging from start-ups, to pre-IPO companies, to global public companies in a variety of corporate transactions and business matters, including national and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital equity financings, corporate governance matters, public company reporting and SEC compliance. He will also continue to serve as transactional counsel to leading private equity and venture capital firms in software and technology, biotech, HealthIT, healthcare services and telecommunications on minority and growth equity investments, buyouts and recapitalizations.
