Choate Receives 2026 Restructuring of the Year Award for At Home Group Reorganization

Choate has been honored for the second consecutive year with the M&A Advisor’s Restructuring of the Year ($1B–$5B) Award, recognizing our role in the Chapter 11 reorganization of At Home Group Inc. The matter underscores the depth and expertise of our debt finance and restructuring teams in guiding clients through complex, high‑stakes financing transactions.

As part of the restructuring, Choate represented Bank of America, N.A., as agent in connection with a $500 million senior secured asset-based exit credit facility for At Home Group Purchaser LLC and certain subsidiaries. The financing refinanced At Home Group’s existing asset‑based credit facility and became effective on October 24, 2025, when the reorganized debtor emerged from Chapter 11 restructuring in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The M&A Advisor’s Founder and CEO, Roger Aguinaldo, noted in a press announcement: “The business landscape in recent years has been marked by extraordinary volatility and disruption. This year’s winners were selected by a distinguished panel of their peers and represent the highest standards of excellence in the restructuring and corporate finance profession.” The award was presented at the 20th Annual Turnaround Awards Gala during the 2026 Distressed Investing Summit in late March.
