Elizabeth Powers

Elizabeth Powers is a member of Choate’s Business Department. As an intellectual property transactional attorney, she represents technology companies on complex domestic and international technology contracts for biomedical, software, and electronics public and private companies. She brings her experience as a patent attorney to conducting intellectual property due diligence and assisting clients developing their intellectual property strategy.

Ms. Powers also lectures extensively on intellectual property issues and is a published author on IP strategy. She was a lecturer at the Santa Clara University School of Law and served as Professor of Practice at Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business, teaching intellectual property and business law courses.

Practice Focus

Technology Transactions: drafting and negotiating all types of technology-related transactions, including intellectual property licenses and transfers, service agreements, intellectual property asset sales, distribution and channel agreements, and strategic alliances.

Trademark Strategy and Prosecution: manages thousands of U.S. and international trademark applications and registrations on behalf of clients in various industries, with a particular focus on technology, financial and pharmaceutical industries.
