Choate Named a 2022 Tipping the Scales Firm for Gender Parity

Choate has been recognized as a 2022 Tipping the Scales firm for its commitment to gender parity and valuing women in leadership positions. The firm was one of 57 firms recognized at the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance Annual Conference on November 3, 2022 for having 50% or more women in their 2022 new partner class.

Since 2012, the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance has published a yearly compilation of data from the nation’s largest and top-grossing law firms (206 this year) examining the gender breakdown of attorneys promoted to partnership in their U.S. offices. The data is based upon publicly available firm announcements and other self-reported sources on new partner classes with an effective date of promotion between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022.

“With nearly 60% of women partner elevations in 2022, we are pleased to be recognized by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance,” said Bill Gelnaw and Charles Cheever, Choate’s Co-Managing Partners.  “We continue to be committed to our diversity initiatives, including those of the Choate Women’s Network (CWN), which actively works to build networks, promote and foster opportunities for women professionals at the Firm and in our community.”
