Alycia Regan Benenati is Of Counsel in Choate’s Litigation and Investigations group. She represents clients in connection with complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts across the country, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations. Alycia has extensive experience handling high-stakes business litigation, including class actions, contractual disputes, securities litigation, antitrust matters, and intellectual property controversies. She represents corporations, financial institutions, developers, sovereign entities, and other clients in significant commercial disputes, appellate matters, and business controversies. Alycia has significant experience in matters involving financial services, real estate development, antitrust, and Holocaust-era property claims. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Steven M. Gold of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Representative Engagements Represented Teva Pharmaceuticals, and its U.S. subsidiary Actavis, in defense of antitrust actions commenced by the State Attorneys General for 48 states, 28 civil antitrust class actions and multiple direct actions, consolidated in an MDL in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania that alleges price-fixing of over 100 generic drugs. Represented DigitalBridge Group and BrightSpire Capital as mezzanine lenders to the developer of the $2.5 Billion Century Plaza project in Los Angeles in litigation against the servicer of the loan and the senior lenders. Represented the heirs to the Herzog Collection in litigation seeking the return of Holocaust-era artwork from the Hungarian government and related institutions. Represented the developer of the American Dream mall and its affiliates in litigation arising from the restructuring of project financing. Represented Comcast Corporation in three antitrust class actions alleging anticompetitive conduct in the cable industry. Represented the developer of one of the largest real estate projects in the Tri-state area in litigation with a lender. Represented MEGA Brands in connection with Lanham Act claims brought by a competitor. Represented a major oil company in a nationwide price-fixing class action. Represented a major U.S. bank in class actions relating to the bank’s activities in South Africa during the former apartheid regime. Represented U.S. and foreign banks and a foreign state in class actions arising from their activities in Europe during World War II.
