Andrew represents public and private companies, institutional investors, investment and venture capital funds, financial institutions, real estate organizations, and directors and officers in class actions, antitrust matters, securities fraud actions, and other high-stakes litigation. He also regularly handles matters outside of court, including confidential arbitrations, pre-suit disputes, and privately negotiated resolutions. Represented an ad hoc group of bondholders, including several of the world’s largest asset managers, in a civil fraud action against the underwriter and bond counsel arising from the $280 million municipal bond financing of a sports complex and bankruptcy. Represented a publicly traded real estate lender, its acquisition subsidiary, and its external manager in defending successor-liability and tortious interference claims. Represented a large private power producer in a representations and warranties insurance dispute arising from its $500 million purchase of two power plants, alleging the seller concealed a competing-project easement and substantial undisclosed maintenance and equipment defects. Represented the former Chief Financial Officer of a public company in a putative securities class action. Represented a cannabis fintech company in litigation involving allegations of fraud and breach of contract. Represented institutional investors in securities fraud litigation arising from Valeant Pharmaceuticals’ alleged improper accounting practices. Represented a hedge fund in pursuing claims against former officers, directors, and sponsors of Adeptus Health arising from its multibillion-dollar bankruptcy. Represented Godiva Chocolatier in putative nationwide class actions alleging false advertising and violations of consumer protection laws. Represented Jewish and Israeli students in Title VI litigation against leading universities alleging discrimination and harassment. Represented an Israeli company in resolving insurance-related claims through international arbitration. Represented an individual in a defamation action resulting in dismissal under California’s anti-SLAPP statute. Represented a publicly traded electric vehicle manufacturer in market manipulation litigation against trading firms alleged to have artificially depressed its share price through high-frequency algorithmic trading.
