Dana Daukss leverages her multi-disciplinary scientific training and extensive intellectual property experience to help biotechnology and life sciences companies develop, protect, and maximize the value of their innovation. Dana counsels emerging and established companies on worldwide patent strategy, portfolio development, patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate analyses, competitive landscape assessments, and intellectual property due diligence. She works closely with clients across the life sciences sector to build and manage strategic patent portfolios that support research and development, financing, partnering transactions, and commercialization efforts. Drawing on her background in biomedical engineering and biochemistry, Dana provides practical and business-oriented guidance on intellectual property matters involving antibody technologies, oligonucleotide therapeutics, cell and gene therapies, and biologics. Prior to joining Choate Hall & Stewart LLP, Dana served as a Senior Patent Analyst at Global Prior Art Inc., where she evaluated patent landscapes relating to drug delivery technologies, physiological sensors, tissue engineering, orthopedic implants, and surgical devices. Before entering the legal profession, she conducted biomedical engineering research at Boston University focused on orthopedic tissue repair.
