Senior Associate

Emily Lowe is a Senior Associate in Choate’s Litigation and Investigations group. She represents clients in connection with complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts across the country. Emily’s practice focuses on high-stakes commercial litigation, including class actions, intellectual property disputes, antitrust and securities fraud matters, constitutional claims, and other business controversies.

Emily has experience representing public and private companies, institutional investors, financial institutions, real estate organizations, and individual clients in a broad range of complex litigation matters. She has worked on disputes involving alleged product defects, copyright infringement, securities fraud, free speech rights, and anti-discrimination laws. Emily also has experience representing clients in matters involving emerging and high-profile legal issues with significant public visibility.

  • Represented Ford Motor Company in putative class action litigation involving alleged defects in automotive transmissions.
  • Represented Jewish students and Students Against Antisemitism, Inc. in civil rights litigation against Harvard University under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
  • Represented Jewish students and Students Against Antisemitism, Inc. in civil rights litigation against New York University alleging discrimination and harassment on campus.
  • Represented Jewish students in litigation opposing motions to dismiss civil rights actions against Harvard University, New York University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Represented a Stanford University researcher in successfully defending against defamation claims arising from congressional testimony regarding antisemitism on campus.
  • Represented a Princeton University graduate and U.S. Army veteran in civil rights litigation against Princeton University and its Chief of Police.
  • Represented an independent creator in copyright infringement litigation against James Cameron, Disney, and related entities involving the Avatar film franchise.
