Sarah Camougis will speak on the panel, “What Boards Need Now: Boston’s Independent Director Advantage” on Thursday, September 17 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The event will be hosted in Choate’s International Place office in partnership with How Women Lead, a national nonprofit of 28,000+ senior executive women driving leadership, investment, and philanthropy, and the Boston Chapter of the Women’s Association of Venture & Equity (WAVE). The conversation brings together experienced directors and senior executives to examine what boards seek in independent directors, how accomplished leaders distinguish themselves for those opportunities, and what it takes to challenge groupthink once you have a seat at the table. The panel will offer insight for current directors about independent judgment, constructive challenge, and the changing demands of board leadership, as well as provide prospective directors with insight into how to position your expertise, evaluate opportunities, and become visible for the right board seats.
