Choate Elevates Five to Principal in 2023

Five Choate attorneys – Peter Flynn, Melissa Gaied, Zach Rosen, Kevin Sarro, and Jennie Wilusz – have been elected as principals, effective May 1, 2023.

Peter A. Flynn | As Principal in the Intellectual Property Group, Peter helps clients in all aspects of IP portfolio development – from due diligence, analysis and drafting to strategy development and international prosecution – across multiple engineering disciplines with a focus on biomedical, medical devices, drug manufacturing, and food products. Peter additionally supports companies during investor and lender IP due diligence efforts and post grant proceedings. 

Melissa W. Gaied | As Principal in the Finance and Restructuring Group, Melissa provides guidance on industry trends, key terms in loan agreements and collateral documents, and security and perfection matters under UCC Article 9 to banks, non-bank lenders, and other financial institutions that provide financing to companies in a wide range of industries, such as retail, sports, healthcare, real estate and technology.

Zachary Rosen | As Principal in the Private Equity/M&A Group, Zach closely assists clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, early and late-stage financings, corporate restructurings, significant commercial agreements, general business guidance, and internal governance, particularly in IT and software licensing, corporate acquisitions, and financing matters.

Kevin M. Sarro | As Principal in the Private Equity/M&A Group, Kevin advises clients on various tax matters, including the structuring and negotiation of private equity investments, growth equity investments, international (cross-border) activities, fund formations, reorganizations, financing transactions, debt restructurings, medical practice investments, and other general corporate and partnership matters.

Jennie D. Wilusz | As Principal in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, Jennie assists biotech, life sciences, and software companies to assert and defend their intellectual property rights, including patented inventions, trade secrets, and other confidential and proprietary information in state and federal courts, as well as before the Patent Trial and Appellate Board (PTAB).
