Christine Savage Co-Authors Research Security Article in Comprehensive Industry Guide
Christine Savage co-authored the article, “Research Security Challenges in a New Era of Global Competition,” which has been published in Sponsored Research Administration: A Guide to Effective Strategies & Recommended Practices.
The guide is a publication of the National Council of University Research Administrators and serves as a comprehensive resource for college administrators who manage sponsored research. The 3500+ page publication is written by leading experts and covers the essential principles and practices of the profession, sample policies and procedures, practical tools, and extensive supplementary materials.
Christine Savage, Co-Chair of Choate’s Government Enforcement and Compliance Group, is one of the few subject matter experts in the country routinely called on to assist academic and clinical research institutions at all stages of the research cycle, from proposal to final close out. She provides legal counsel on contracting, ethical and human subjects protection oversight, effort reporting, and foreign influence issues, and helps craft investigative or disclosure plans in the face of identified problems or concerns. She had led multiple internal reviews related to conflicts of interest, foreign influence, and grants management concerns and resolved material findings with appropriate government agencies including NIH, NSF, OIG and DOJ.
