Sophie Wang to Co-Chair and Speak at IP Litigation North America Summit 2026

Sophie Wang will co-chair the IP Litigation North America Summit 2026 on September 14-16, 2026 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The conference convenes leading in-house counsel, litigators, judges, and intellectual property professionals from across the United States and beyond to discuss key developments in patent and trade secret litigation.

On September 16, Sophie will moderate the panel discussion, “Safe Harbor and Bolar Exemptions Across Jurisdictions: Navigating Patent Risks in Pre-Approval Activity.” The session will examine recent litigation and regulatory developments affecting pre-approval activities in the life sciences sector, including the evolving scope of the U.S. safe harbor under 35 U.S.C. § 271(e)(1) and proposed changes to Bolar exemptions under the European Pharma Package. Panelists will discuss recent decisions, considerations for structuring pre-approval activities, and the implications of regulatory developments for originator and generic companies operating across jurisdictions.

Sophie co-heads Choate’s IP Litigation practice where she represents biotech, pharmaceutical, and technology companies in high-stakes intellectual property and commercial disputes nationwide. As a first chair trial lawyer, she advises life sciences clients on bet-the-company patent litigation, PTAB proceedings, trade secrets matters, and commercial disputes, while also guiding U.S. and global patent and litigation strategies.
