Derek H. Farquhar
Derek H. Farquhar is a member of Choate’s Government Enforcement group. He provides creative solutions to clients in a wide range of complex litigations and government investigations.
Prior to joining Choate, Derek served as a law clerk to Judge Christina C. Reiss of the United States District Court for the District of Vermont. While in law school, Derek completed an internship with Judge Juan R. Torruella of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Derek was also a Student Attorney at the Boston University School of Law Startup Law Clinic.

- Represented construction company and private investors in state court action alleging bad faith, intentional misconduct, and violations of an operating agreement related to a real estate development in Boston, MA.
- Conducted internal investigation on behalf of pharmaceutical company concerning clinical trial practices.
- Represented insurance technology company in trade secrets and patent litigation.
- Advised individual executive in federal antitrust investigation.
- Represented global technology company in qui tam False Claims Act litigation and related whistleblower retaliation suit.

- Through Choate’s pro bono practice, Derek represents disabled individuals to help them secure Social Security benefits
