Choate Elects Nine to Counsel

Nine Choate attorneys - Matthew B. Arnould, Courtney N. Carr, Rachel S. Connors, Lyndsey M. Kruzer, Jonathan D. Marshall, Katherine F. Reynolds, Stephanie L. Schonewald, PhD, Sophie F. Wang, and Rebecca A. Wilsker - have been elected to Counsel at the Firm, effective May 1, 2018.

As Counsel in Choate’s Complex Trial & Appellate Litigation Group, Matthew B. Arnould will continue to focus his practice on representing a wide range of insurance, healthcare, and financial clients, publicly traded companies, nonprofits, boards of directors, and individuals, with a particular emphasis on the defense and resolution of complex commercial and business litigation. Mr. Arnould’s experience includes litigation counseling and frontline representation in cases involving fraud and misrepresentation claims, contract disputes, partnership disputes, and alleged violations of securities laws and health care fraud statutes.

As Counsel in Choate's Wealth Management Group, Courtney N. Carr will continue to focus her practice on providing comprehensive and personalized estate planning advice to high net worth individuals and their families. She specializes in developing customized estate plans for clients designed to minimize estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes and to meet each client’s personal goals for wealth transfer.

As Counsel in Choate's Finance & Restructuring Group, Rachel S. Connors will continue to focus her practice on representing leading financial institutions and borrowers in a broad range of complex finance and restructuring transactions. Her practice is focused primarily on syndicated debt financing, asset‑based financing, sports financing, mezzanine and second lien financing, and other strategic financing transactions across a variety of industries and business sectors.

As Counsel in Choate's Labor, Employment & Benefits Group, Lyndsey M.  Kruzer will continue to focus her practice on representing and advising employers on a wide range of workplace issues. An experienced litigator, Ms. Kruzer will continue to represent companies primarily in employment-related litigation. Ms. Kruzer also conducts workplace investigations on behalf of employers and advises employers on related matters.

As Counsel in Choate's Finance & Restructuring Group, Jonathan D. Marshall will continue to focus his practice on representing financial institutions in a range of complex financial transactions, with a concentration on corporate restructurings and loan workouts. Mr. Marshall specializes in advising lenders, troubled companies, and other strategic parties in both in-and out-of-court restructurings.

As Counsel in Choate's Finance & Restructuring Group, Katherine F. Reynolds will continue to focus her practice on representing financial institutions, corporate borrowers and private equity sponsors in a variety of complex financial transactions, including secured and unsecured lending transactions, acquisition financings, working capital and other senior credit facilities, and second-lien and mezzanine debt financings. Ms. Reynolds has particular experience working on deals within the retail, technology and sports industries. 

As Counsel in Choate's Intellectual Property and Life Sciences Groups, Stephanie L. Schonewald, PhD will continue to focus her practice on counseling biotech and pharmaceutical companies on the strategic development of patent portfolios and patent prosecution. Dr. Schonewald also represents clients in AIA post-grant review proceedings, having conducted more than 30 inter partes reviews.

As Counsel in Choate's Intellectual Property Litigation Group, Sophie F. Wang will continue to focus her practice on representing biotech, pharmaceutical, and technology companies in complex patent litigation and inter partes review proceedings, trade secrets litigation, copyright and trademark issues, and contract and licensing disputes.

As Counsel in Choate's Private Equity Group, Rebecca A. Wilsker will continue to focus her practice on representing private equity funds, growth equity funds, and their portfolio companies throughout their life cycles, including acquisitions, equity investments, sales, and other significant transactions. Ms. Wilsker also advises companies on corporate governance matters, equity compensation, financings, and commercial transactions.
